1. Who we are

Brandswarm ("we", "our", "us") operates brandswarm.io, an AI brand-visibility tracking platform. This policy describes how we handle personal data collected through our website and application.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — email address (required), organization name.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, scan prompts you create, brand names you track.
• Billing data — handled directly by Stripe; we store only plan status and Stripe customer/subscription IDs. We never see your card number.
• Log data — IP address, browser type, referring URLs, timestamps.

3. How we use your data

• Provide and improve the Brandswarm service.
• Send transactional emails (magic-link login, billing receipts, plan change confirmations).
• Send product update emails — you can unsubscribe any time.
• Monitor system health, detect abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Sentry — error monitoring (anonymised where possible).
• OpenAI / Anthropic / Google / Perplexity / SerpAPI — the AI surfaces we query on your behalf. Your prompts are sent to these services.
• Law enforcement when required by law.

5. Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@brandswarm.io. Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax/legal compliance.

6. Cookies

We use a single session cookie (Django session) required for authentication. No third-party tracking cookies. No advertising pixels.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact privacy@brandswarm.io to exercise any of these rights.

8. Security

We use TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique email for your account.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll notify you by email of material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
